Sung June (SJ) was a veteran in private banking and institutional equities before founding his own private equity firms in Hong Kong and Korea. Atlas Investment Management, a private equity fund of funds with exposure to US and European Middle Markets and Growth Equity Investments in healthcare and technology, was founded in 2019, followed by Aquila Private Equity, with a focus on growth capital and buyout investment opportunities in Korea. Prior to the establishment of his private equity businesses, SJ had twice worked for Credit Suisse. The first time was in institutional equities (1994 - 2010), rising to Co-Head of Non-Japan Asia (NJA) Equities and APAC Head of Institutional Sales.  The second time was as Head of APAC Products & Solutions, Ultra High Net Worth Platform (2012-2019), where he provided global investment banking, asset management and private banking solutions - intellectual capital, balance sheet and deal flow - to a client AUM base of USD 230 billion. He also had a stint as CEO and Global Head of Equities of Samsung Securities (Asia) Ltd (2010-2012), with a mandate to expand the firm’s regional footprint. SJ earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Yonsei University, Korea, and his MBA from the University of Chicago.
